Hissing cats warn woman of 4m-long cobra

-

PADANG TERAP: A housewife, 50, has her cats to thank for alerting her to the presence of a 4m-long cobra in her house.

The woman discovered the cobra after she was awakened from her sleep by her cats’ loud hissing.

Padang Terap Civil Defence Force chief Mohd Rizal Ali said the woman found the cobra in her garage and called for help.

He said the 14kg serpent was found hiding in between shoe racks in the garage.

“It took us 30 minutes to capture the reptile,” Rizal said.

He added that the department had responded to 18 calls for help following snake incursions into homes this month.
