4 youths killed, 1 hurt in road crash
SHAH ALAM: Four youths were killed and one injured when their car, whose driver is believed to have been drunk, skidded to the side of the road and smashed into a tree in Persiaran Setia Alam here yesterday.
The dead were identified as N. Zed Hezron, 18; M. Sashwin, 18; M. Kavineshan, 19; and, the driver, K. Gopalakrishnan, 20.
All four were killed at the scene in the 1.14am accident.
M. Roshan, 19, the fifth occupant of the sedan (which was heading from the toll plaza to Jalan Meru), suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
It is learnt that the five included two siblings and their cousin.
According to Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharuddin Mat Taib, rescuers had to extricate the victims from the wreckage.
The four bodies were sent to Shah Alam Hospital for postmortems.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
