The 29-year-old is giv­ing him­self about three to four years to com­pete at the top. “30 to 32 is the peak for all fight­ers,” says Ting, adding: “So I still have some time left. And then af­ter that I’ll see where my busi­ness is at and take it from there.”

“Tak­ing it from there” might see Ting open­ing his own gym and be­ing a coach. Or it could mean him hav­ing a con­struc­tion busi­ness. But asked what his ul­ti­mate dream is, Ting con­fides, eyes shin­ing: “I’d like to open an academy near the beach and just en­joy a bal­anced life­style. I want to be able to em­brace the day and just bring light to ev­ery­body.”
