PERAK RULER CONFERS AWARDS ON 296
It is in conjunction with Sultan Nazrin’s 62nd birthday
ATOTAL of 296 people were conferred state awards, medals and honours in conjunction with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 62nd birthday at Istana Iskandariah here yesterday.
Six recipients were conferred the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM), 23 were conferred the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP), 15 were conferred the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM) and 66 were conferred the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP).
Seventy-two recipients were conferred the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), 109 were conferred the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and five were conferred the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).
The investiture was attended by Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah and Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and his wife, Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashikin Mohamed Radzi, executive councillors and senior state government officials were present.
Last Monday, Sultan Nazrin conferred the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP) on Faizal at the first investiture. The award carries the “Datuk Seri” title.
Universiti Malaya Pro-Chancellor Toh Puan Datuk Seri Dr Aishah Ong also received the SPMP.
Datuk Dr Afifi Al-Akiti, an Islamic Studies lecturer at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oxford, the United Kingdom, was proclaimed a Perak state dignitary and bestowed the title “Orang Kaya Kaya Imam Paduka Tuan (Orang Besar Delapan) Negeri Perak” by Sultan Nazrin.
