I learnt to accept that certain things are out of my control and certain things are within my control.

At Masala Wheels, we continue to impact lives daily by listening to the pulse of people. In times of crisis, we need to collaborat­e. Prioritisi­ng national interest and breaking barriers to achieve a common good.

For me personally, this MCO has allowed me to gain more clarity for myself and also my company. It has forced me to slowdown and re-evaluate, re-adjust and re-design the future that I desire. It began with a lot of anxiety and worries. It took me about two weeks to begin to enjoy the MCO and look at it as a time of solitude.

But for now, I’m definitely optimistic about the situation.

The media are flooded with a lot of negative news but there are also a great number of positives. People are helping one another, NGOs are coming together to curb these issues and feed the underprivi­leged. Now is the time the world needs love, kindness and compassion — more than ever.

Having free time is indeed a privilege to those of us in the fashion industry. Since we have the manpower and equipment, plus production has come to a halt, there is no excuse for us to not step up and combat the shortages of personal protective equipment. I see it as a call of duty.
