This well-established clinic has made a name for itself with its hair transplants.

In 2006, Dr Harold Ma established Freia Medical in Singapore, an aesthetic clinic to provide minimally invasive treatments, among them a range of skin and hair lasers and body contouring devices. He is also currently collaborating with A*star on hair cell biology and hints of exciting discoveries to be revealed in the future.

But what has put the clinic on the map is Dr Ma’s FUE hair transplant. The procedure involves moving healthy hair follicles from the back of the scalp to the front and top, where thinning usually occurs. It is carried out under local anaesthetic and the patient goes home the same day. Freia says clients can be back at work within five to 10 days and hair begins to grow after four to six months.

The cost ranges from about S$7,000 (RM21,000) to S$20,000, depending on the complexity and extent of the thinning.

Dr Ma says: “At the core of this quality is an obsession to bring out the best in our clients, to bring the latest technology to them while providing a personal touch.” ≠
