What inspires your fitness journey?
“I’ve always been active. I did ballet for13 years, ever since I was four, and moved on to martial arts right after. I started going to the gym to improve my performance in these activities. Honestly, I would feel incredibly uneasy if I stopped being active.”
What is your favourite workout?
“I’m easily bored so I like to vary my workouts to keep things interesting. I love HIIT workouts, weight training, boxing, BodyCombat and indoor cycling and spinning classes. I also make time for the occasional yoga class, and I still like to dance!” What’s your fitness routine like? “My typical week’s routine is two days of weight training, and two high intensity cardio days. I also try to incorporate some flexibility or endurance training into the fifth training day.”
Fresh skin secret? “Plenty of water – about three to four litres a day. Also, I can’t live without my sunscreen. A good sunscreen is a must-have in my gym bag, especially when I’m training outside. Even if I’m not training, I wear it daily because we are exposed to harmful UV rays even when we’re indoors.”
What’sW your diet like? “Depending on wwhat I am training for at that time, my diet is always changing, But generally, I follow a high protein, high fat and low sugar diet.”
DoD you have cheat days or meals?
“Often! I don’t cut out any food groups from my diet, and if I feel like having some chocolate now and then, I will have it. It’s what you do 90 percent of the time that will bring results, and having a bit of cake at your colleague’s birthday party won’t ruin everything. Remember, balance is key.” YourY fitness mantra? “Make it a lifestyle.”
I love my shape because....“It is uniquely mine. We get caught up these days trying to look a certain way because it’s been glamourised in the media – but everyone is different in so many ways, so why not embrace our own individuality?”
“It’s what you do 90 percent of the time that will bring results, and having a bit of cake at your colleague’s birthday party won’t ruin everything.”
