Fit & Fa­mous: Pa­tri­cia Knud­sen

From get­ting cer­ti­fied as an Xtend Barre in­struc­tor in 2015, to re­cently hav­ing her daugh­ter, Sophia, this 29-year old Malaysian beauty has her hands full. Pa­tri­cia gives us a sneak peek into her life - how she keeps fit, eats, and her go-to travel tips!

The mo­ti­va­tion

“I love the feel­ing that I have af­ter a work­out, and how it also con­trols my diet bet­ter. It just com­pletely changes me and boosts my en­ergy level so I can do my work, take care of Sophia and my­self.”

On be­ing a mum

“It is not easy when a woman feels like her whole body has changed, and it has been re­ally hard for me to shed that weight. I try to work out in the morn­ings, af­ter­noons, and I plan it around Sophia. I’ll find time to ex­er­cise when she’s nap­ping, or in the morn­ing be­fore she wakes up. I also ex­er­cise at my apart­ment gym, us­ing the NIKE train­ing app, which is great when you’re work­ing out at home.”

What she eats

“I do healthy de­liv­er­ies some­times, and I make easy and healthy bites at home too. I am healthy in the sense that I make sure to eat my veg­eta­bles and food that gives me en­ergy for my work­outs, drink lots of wa­ter and juices.”

On be­com­ing a Barre in­struc­tor

“I was ner­vous and ex­cited when I con­ducted my first class in 2015. I wanted to con­duct my class the way I would like to be trained. Since I host, this part comes nat­u­rally to me. I also love be­ing around peo­ple, and ex­er­cis­ing brings pos­i­tive vibes.”

On her baby

“I am lucky to have a part­ner who is very hands on, and he does as much as I do with Sophia. We take turns, and he has been re­ally kind, giv­ing me space and time to go to the gym. I think he knows how hard it was for me when I gained all that weight dur­ing preg­nancy, and hav­ing to re­turn to work now.”

Her trav­el­ling tips

“It’s al­ways good to bring snacks such as fruits and nuts with you. Some­times, I am lucky to have a gym while I’m on the go. Oth­er­wise, I just work out us­ing the NIKE train­ing app.”

Her fit­ness mantra

“BeBold. You will never know what your limits are un­til you push your­self. You don’t have to go fast, you just have to go!
