Finding bliss among the buzz
IIt’s almost year-end, and the stresses of the months since January have probably accumulated. You’re just about ready to burst, because: year-end weight-loss target not met, workplace KPI fell short, anxiety over how your appraisal went, failure to tick enough or any items off your bucket list, not practicing anything in your 2018 resolutions list, so many disappointments. Yes, I know. I sometimes feel the same way, and, from observation, I feel others do, too. But, if there’s one realisation that came to me upon my 45th birthday a few months ago, it’s that you’ll probably never tick everything off that to-do list. And, that’s okay. Once I realised that I’m not a failure if I don’t achieve every target I set out to do, I came to terms with it. I’m less stressed about it, and I’m looking forward to 2019 because there’s so much more to do and to try, and achieve. I’ll just keep on writing that target list, tracking my KPIs, drawing up bucket lists, and so on. And, I’ll keep revising them as my wishes of the moment sway and shift. The point is to keep moving, to keep hoping, to keep challenging, and to keep trying. That’s all. Have a blissful year-end, SHAPE-ers, and hope you’ll have an exciting 2019! P.S. I’m proud to announcce that SHAPE Malaysia is now the fourth title in the herinspirasi.com platform. Her Inspirasi is the digital home of Her World, Jelita and The Malaysian Women’s Weekly (and now SHAPE!), and contains all the expertise and knowledge on food, parenting, beauty and fashion, wellness and lifestyle that these titles are known for. You can now get trusted fitness and nutrition information on www.shape.com.my and www. herinspirasi.com. Enjoy!
Here’s a tip: it’s cheaper (and less of a hassle) to get a digital subscription of SHAPE on the Apple App Store and Android app on Google Play than risk missing out on your monthly fix.
