The omakase lunch menu, prepared by chef Hiroyuki Murakami, is the must-order highlight as wave after wave of sushi and largely seafood delicacies in typical Japanese bitesized portions pander to your gastronomi­c sensibilit­ies.

Wake up the palate with the excellent combinatio­n of salted edamame with seaweed jelly, then proceed to stimulate the taste buds with a course of sashimi comprising fresh slices of tuna and butterfish. The grilled black cod is delightful and so is the beautifull­y presented combinatio­n of oysters with seaweed, with both dishes utilising ingredient­s that are the best in season.

Following that is the restaurant’s raison d’etre – sushi – which is prepared before you by the head chef himself and served straight to your plate. Of all the stars in the sushi line-up, the standout must be the flounder. Lightly grilled under the blowtorch and finished with a dash of rock salt, the meat is smoky, buttery with a hint of sweetness and provides an excellent mouthfeel.
