Rainbow colours and natural themes shine in Swarovski summer jewellery collection
SWAROVSKI is celebrating summer, colour, femininity and audacity with a jewellery collection where flamboyant hues and brilliant shine take centre stage. The collection encourages women to express their personality with this high-impact yet easy-to-wear jewellery.
At a time when the most prestigious brands are unveiling high jewellery collections, Swarovski is reaching out to women looking for audacity and optimism with its new jewellery collection. Landing in several distinct lines, this summer collection is rich in colour and is inspired by nature, giving rise to various motifs.
Swarovski’s Creative Director, Nathalie Colin, said in a statement: “Summertime for me means sun, vacation, travel and being able to wear more colour! I have always embraced colour, and it’s a significant part of the Swarovski DNA. To add to a much-needed optimistic mindset, I wanted to go bright and bold to express joy, fun, love, and happiness with a brilliant rainbow-inspired collection!”
The rainbow is a key inspiration in the “Ginger” line, which pops with vivid colours in brilliant pavé crystal, featuring circular shapes creating graphic effects. The more understated “Lisabel” line is rich in gold shades and bee and honeycomb motifs, while the “Swarovski Remix Collection” offers multiple possibilities with customisable bracelets to layer or wear alone.
This Swarovski summer 2018 collection is accompanied by an advertising campaign starring the brand’s global ambassador, Karlie Kloss, who is joined by renowned models Fei Fei Sun and Jourdan Dunn. Meanwhile, The winners of this year’s Swarovski Designers of the Future competition recently unveiled what they’ve been up to at Design Miami/Basel.
On display as a complete exhibition, the commissioned projects each used Swarovski crystal innovations to explore the theme ‘Smart Living’. Crystal definitely isn’t the first material that comes to mind when you think of smart tech solutions for the home, so we were fascinated to see the results and learn more about each designers’ thought process.
The three winners came up with diverse solutions, each focused on a different area within the broad smart living space. ‘Dream Machine’ by Dutch designer Frank Kolkman is an ethereal device that explores using neuroscience and crystal technology to help us cope with the cognitive demands of our modern lives. The device generates light and sound patterns that synch with the user’s brainwaves to bring them into a state of artificial dreaming. – Relaxnews
