Consultant charged with murder
JOHOR BAHRU: A vacation consultant was charged in the Magistrate's Court here yesterday with the murder of a marketing executive at a hotel here early this month.
Badril Hisham Abu Mansor, 40, nodded when the charge was read out before Magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Allias.
However, no plea was recorded.
Badril Hisham was charged with murdering Tan Chai Soon, 46, on the 6th Floor of Berjaya Waterfront Hotel at Stulang Laut here at 1.15 am last Sept 3.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Mohd Nasir prosecuted, while lawyer Datuk Rosal Azimin Ahmad represented Badril Hisham. The court set Oct 12 for mention pending the result of the post mortem and chemist report. Bernama
