Body of missing man found

SANDAKAN: The body of a 37year-old man who was reported missing while having a picnic and a swim in Kuala Pamaguan here was found on Monday night.

District Fire and Rescue Department chief Razali Awang Ahmad said Sharian Amirshah from Sungai Manila had gone to Kuala Pamaguan with five friends to the area when he was reported missing on Sunday.

Razali said his personnel went to the scene upon receiving a distress call from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) at 10.03pm on Sunday.

A search and rescue operation was activated on Monday morning and the victim’s body was at 9.59pm on the same day at the same location where he was reported missing by family members.

His body was later brought to the Duchess of Kent Hospital.
