32,000 bottles of drinking water for Kinabalu guides, porters
RANAU : The Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd here recently sponsored drinking water to Mount Kinabalu Guide and Porter Association at the Rafflesia Meeting Room, Kinabalu Park.
Being the largest beverage producer in Sabah, Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd took the initiative by supplying 32,000 bottles of drinking water worth more than RM40,000, for free as a sign of support to mountain porters and guides in their day-to-day tasks.
It was learnt that porters and guides had to sometime drink water from tanks at resting points when climbing due to the lack of drinking water.
The presentation of the drinking water was witnessed by Kinabalu Park senior assistant Martin Moguring.
Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd representative Sim Kwang Liang said the sponsorship was a tribute from Life Water to guides and porters of Mount Kinabalu, who had protected Mount Kinabalu from being invaded by irresponsible individuals.
He said the guides and porters also played a role in ensuring the safety of climbers of Mount Kinabalu.
Moreover, tourism had also improved and increased due to the professionalism shown by the guides and porters to climbers, especially after the earthquake incident in 2015, he said.
Life Water is also proud of its K2 drinking water and Tritonic drink which have become the official drink for the international climbathon event on 15th October, he added.
