Asia Pa­cific Taiji Wushu Con­ven­tion in KK

KOTA KIN­A­BALU: Tourism, Cul­ture and En­vi­ron­ment Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Pan­glima Ma­sidi Man­jun has agreed to of­fi­ci­ate at the open­ing of The Asia Pa­cific Taiji Wushu Con­ven­tion 2017 in Novem­ber.

The event, jointly or­ga­nized by the Guang­dong Taiji Cul­tural Re­search Cen­tre, Kota Kin­a­balu Funei Taiji As­so­ci­a­tion and Sabah As­so­ci­a­tion of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta), will be held at Putera Theatre Ball­room from Novem­ber 18 to 20.

Kota Kin­a­balu Funei Taiji As­so­ci­a­tion pres­i­dent Datuk Seri Win­ston Liaw led his or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee to call on Ma­sidi here on Thurs­day.

Liaw said more than 200 Taiji en­thu­si­asts from China, Aus­tralia, Sin­ga­pore, Tai­wan and other coun­tries have signed up for the event to date and more were ex­pected to regis­ter in the com­ing months.

“We ex­pect around 600 to 800 par­tic­i­pants and their fam­i­lies will be here. Some of them have ex­tended their stay to Novem­ber 25 as they wish to visit Sem­porna, Ku­dat and other places in Sabah.”

The or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee has also in­vited Min­is­ter of Spe­cial Tasks Datuk Teo Chee Kang as the guest of hon­our for the clos­ing cer­e­mony on Novem­ber 20.
