Asia Pacific Taiji Wushu Convention in KK
KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun has agreed to officiate at the opening of The Asia Pacific Taiji Wushu Convention 2017 in November.
The event, jointly organized by the Guangdong Taiji Cultural Research Centre, Kota Kinabalu Funei Taiji Association and Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta), will be held at Putera Theatre Ballroom from November 18 to 20.
Kota Kinabalu Funei Taiji Association president Datuk Seri Winston Liaw led his organizing committee to call on Masidi here on Thursday.
Liaw said more than 200 Taiji enthusiasts from China, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries have signed up for the event to date and more were expected to register in the coming months.
“We expect around 600 to 800 participants and their families will be here. Some of them have extended their stay to November 25 as they wish to visit Semporna, Kudat and other places in Sabah.”
The organizing committee has also invited Minister of Special Tasks Datuk Teo Chee Kang as the guest of honour for the closing ceremony on November 20.
