Sexagenarian to know fate Nov 27 for raping stepdaughter
KOTA KINABALU: A 62-yearold stepfather, who is charged with raping his stepdaughter, will know his fate on November 27 this year.
Sessions Court judge Azreena Aziz yesterday set the date for judgment after the accused was ordered to enter his defence on October 6.
The accused was charged under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code for rape, which is punishable with a jail term of not less than eight years and not more than 30 years, and whipping of not less than 10 strokes, upon conviction.
He was alleged to have raped the eight-year-old girl at a house in Papar at 10 pm on August 16, 2016.
The prosecution produced six witnesses while the defense called two witnesses.
Deputy public prosecutor Husna Abdul Halim acted for the prosecution while the accused was not represented.
