35 at­tend fire safety train­ing in San­dakan

SAN­DAKAN: A to­tal of 35 par­tic­i­pants from Sedafiat Sdn Bhd (East Coast Sabah) par­tic­i­pated in a Fire Safety Or­gan­i­sa­tion (FSO) Safety Course, con­ducted at the Fire and Res­cue De­part­ment here, from Novem­ber 7 to 9.

Ac­cord­ing to Fire and Res­cue De­part­ment San­dakan Zone chief And­dre An­drew, Sedafiat Sdn Bhd is an ap­pointed com­pany to han­dle main­te­nance works in gov­ern­ment hospi­tals all over Sabah.

He said Sedafiat per­son­nel who par­tic­i­pated in the course in­cluded those from hospi­tals in San­dakan, Kin­abatan­gan, Belu­ran, La­had Datu, Ku­nak, Sem­porna and Tawau.

“The course fo­cused on fire safety train­ing and early mea­sure­ment in han­dling emer­gency cases in­volv­ing fire in­ci­dents in gov­ern­ment hospi­tals in the east coast of Sabah.

“The ob­jec­tive is to create more FSO mem­bers who have knowl­edge in fire mea­sure­ment sys­tems in gov­ern­ment hospi­tals and for the par­tic­i­pants to un­der­stand the func­tion (of the sys­tem) so that they will be able to use them ef­fec­tively in times of fire in­ci­dents,” he said.
