KOTA KINABALU: The Marine Operations Force (MOF) has crippled two attempts to smuggle out 13,400 litres of diesel from the country in two operations near Pulau Sapi on Friday.
Also detained in the operations were two skippers and 17 crewmen from two boats.
MOF Commander, Superintendent Abd Nasir Othman said nine tanks and 22 barrels containing a total of 13,400 litres of diesel were seized.
“The total seized diesel was valued at RM29,212,” he said.
Both skippers also failed to produce licenses and release letters from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, said Abd Nasir.
