Accept party election results, Baru urges PKR members
LIMBANG: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak chairman Baru Bian urges members to accept the party’s election results.
Speaking to reporters after the party’s election for the Limbang Branch here yesterday, Baru who is also Works Minister said all members must accept the election results and reunite in the party’s struggle.
The Selangau MP and Ba Kelalan assemblyman commended party members for the smooth and peaceful party election at the Limbang branch.
“Everything went on smoothly without any incident,” he said.
Baru is reportedly aligned to incumbent deputy president Azmin Ali in the party’s election. Azmin is facing Rafizi Ramli in the race for the deputy presidency.
PKR Limbang Branch has about 3,000 registered members but only about 500 had turned up to vote as at noon yesterday.
The result of the polls was expected to be known after the election process which closed at 4pm yesterday.
Present during the party election was PKR Limbang Branch adviser Dr Lau Liak Koi and branch chief Edward Bulot.
