Ac­cept party elec­tion re­sults, Baru urges PKR mem­bers

LIMBANG: Parti Kead­i­lan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak chair­man Baru Bian urges mem­bers to ac­cept the party’s elec­tion re­sults.

Speak­ing to re­porters af­ter the party’s elec­tion for the Limbang Branch here yes­ter­day, Baru who is also Works Min­is­ter said all mem­bers must ac­cept the elec­tion re­sults and re­unite in the party’s strug­gle.

The Se­lan­gau MP and Ba Ke­lalan as­sem­bly­man com­mended party mem­bers for the smooth and peace­ful party elec­tion at the Limbang branch.

“Ev­ery­thing went on smoothly with­out any in­ci­dent,” he said.

Baru is re­port­edly aligned to in­cum­bent deputy pres­i­dent Azmin Ali in the party’s elec­tion. Azmin is fac­ing Rafizi Ramli in the race for the deputy pres­i­dency.

PKR Limbang Branch has about 3,000 reg­is­tered mem­bers but only about 500 had turned up to vote as at noon yes­ter­day.

The re­sult of the polls was ex­pected to be known af­ter the elec­tion process which closed at 4pm yes­ter­day.

Present dur­ing the party elec­tion was PKR Limbang Branch ad­viser Dr Lau Liak Koi and branch chief Ed­ward Bu­lot.
