North­ern Sarawak PBB lead­ers sure Jami­lah will get big­ger ma­jor­ity

MIRI: Parti Pe­saka Bu­mi­put­era Ber­satu ( PBB) lead­ers in north­ern Sarawak are con­fi­dent Barisan Na­sional ( BN) Tan­jong Datu by- elec­tion can­di­date Datin Pat­inggi Datuk Amar Jami­lah Anu will re­tain the seat with a big­ger ma­jor­ity to­mor­row.

PBB Te­lang Usan chair­man Den­nis Ngau said he is sure Jami­lah, the widow of for­mer Chief Min­is­ter Datuk Pat­inggi Tan Sri Ade­nan Satem, will achieve this based on the sen­ti­ments of con­stituents on the ground.

He said when cam­paign­ing for Jami­lah in Lundu, he could see the peo­ple were very happy with the de­vel­op­ment brought by Ade­nan to the area.

“There are many de­vel­op­ments sur­round­ing Tan­jong Datu and in Lundu and the peo­ple there ap­pre­ci­ate it. And this is the ba­sis that I see that Datuk Jami­lah will win and the peo­ple will give a stronger and big­ger ma­jor­ity,” he said when con­tacted in Kuching yes­ter­day.

He pointed out that the op­po­si­tion par­ties have also done lit­tle cam­paign­ing in the area.

PBB Pu­jut chair­man Abu Bakar Amit said grass­roots mem­bers here are also giv­ing their sup­port to Jami­lah.

“The peo­ple in Tan­jong Datu know her and like her through her reg­u­lar vis­its with her hus­band to meet the peo­ple there,” he said.
