Soon Koh at­tends CNY do in Lim­bang

LIM­BANG: Se­cond Min­is­ter of Fi­nance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh joined a crowd of 800 at the Lim­bang District Chi­nese New Year cel­e­bra­tion and swear­ing-in cer­e­mony of new of­fice bear­ers of Lim­bang Foo­chow As­so­ci­a­tion here on Wed­nes­day.

Speak­ing at the event, he re­minded those present that unity and sol­i­dar­ity among the peo­ple of var­i­ous races and reli­gions was vi­tal in en­sur­ing peace and har­mony in the state.

“Sol­i­dar­ity must be up­held to en­sure last­ing peace for all of us to en­joy,” he said.

He hoped the Chi­nese com­mu­nity and other com­mu­ni­ties in the state will en­joy pros­per­ity, good for­tune and hap­pi­ness in the Year of the Rooster. The Chi­nese New Year cel­e­bra­tion was or­gan­ised by Fed­er­a­tion of Lim­bang Chi­nese As­so­ci­a­tions.

Present were the fed­er­a­tion’s chair­man, Datuk Wong King Hong, and com­mu­nity lead­ers.

Wong called for close co­op­er­a­tion and sol­i­dar­ity among as­so­ci­a­tions here,say­ingth­eyshould­col­lec­tively con­trib­ute to the de­vel­op­ment of the state and coun­try.
