Soon Koh attends CNY do in Limbang
LIMBANG: Second Minister of Finance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh joined a crowd of 800 at the Limbang District Chinese New Year celebration and swearing-in ceremony of new office bearers of Limbang Foochow Association here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, he reminded those present that unity and solidarity among the people of various races and religions was vital in ensuring peace and harmony in the state.
“Solidarity must be upheld to ensure lasting peace for all of us to enjoy,” he said.
He hoped the Chinese community and other communities in the state will enjoy prosperity, good fortune and happiness in the Year of the Rooster. The Chinese New Year celebration was organised by Federation of Limbang Chinese Associations.
Present were the federation’s chairman, Datuk Wong King Hong, and community leaders.
Wong called for close cooperation and solidarity among associations here,sayingtheyshouldcollectively contribute to the development of the state and country.
