Flooded Wind Cave Na­ture Re­serve tem­po­rar­ily closed

KUCHING: Wind Cave Na­ture Re­serve will be tem­po­rar­ily closed with im­me­di­ate ef­fect due to flood­ing caused by in­ces­sant rain in the area, said Sarawak Forestry Cor­po­ra­tion ( SFC) in a no­tice yes­ter­day.

The no­tice said the jetty plat­form lo­cated near the Na­ture Re­serve’s of­fice is sub­merged.

”Over­flow­ing of wa­ter from a nearby river had also flooded the in­te­rior of Wind Cave,” it said.

But Fairy Cave Na­ture Re­serve nearby is still open to the pub­lic for the time be­ing.

The pub­lic may con­tact the man­age­ment of Wind Cave and Fairy Cave Na­ture Re­serves at 082- 375490 as well as Na­tional Park Booking Of­fice at 082248088 for fur­ther en­quiries and in­for­ma­tion.

Wind Cave will be re­opened to visi­tors once the sit­u­a­tion re­turns to nor­mal.
