SIBU: DSP Sanudin Md Isa is the new commanding officer of the 10th Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) here.

Sanudin, 55, who hails from Kedah, has been in the force for 31 years.

Prior to his posting here, he was adjutant at the GOF Southeast Brigade headquarters in Kuantan, Pahang.

The exchange of duty ceremony between outgoing 10th Battalion GOF acting commanding officer DSP Kinsi Bilu and Sanudin was held at Lanang Road here yesterday. It was witnessed by GOF Sarawak brigade commander SAC Datuk Khaw Kok Chin.

In his speech, Khaw urged GOF personnel and the camp community to give their cooperation to Sanudin so that he could bring the battalion to a higher level.

Khaw also commended Kinsi who he said had done a good job in carrying out his duty as acting commanding officer while waiting for the new officer to take over.

Sanudin, meanwhile, said he would do his best to discharge his duty.

He expressed his hope to learn more about the local community and cultures.
