Warisan: Shafie to make important announcement this Saturday

-

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah ( Warisan) is gaining from strength to strength if the attendance figures at all the party’s roadshows held in many districts were any indications and its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is expected to make an important announcement at the party’s closing event of ‘Siri Jelajah Warisan Sabah’ this Saturday.

The roadshows were a hit among local people in each area where the number of people who turned up would usually vary in the thousands in each jelajah.

Warisan information chief Honorsius Datuk Alfred Bosuin said it ( attendance) was a sign that the people in Sabah this time around were yearning for a change and see Warisan as the alternative.

“Everyday people from all walks of life and religions are joining Warisan, including former members from Umno, BN components and even fellow opposition parties,” he added.

“Warisan does not entice or pinch members from other political parties with promises of positions or so on, they came and joined on their own free will after realising and understanding our vision to form a government free of corrupt practices, cronyism and nepotism,” he said, adding that Warisan was focused on setting up a multi-racial government by local based party with autonomy and would struggle to change Sabah for the better.

Looking at the present situation, Honorsius also lamented that Warisan seemed to be the prime target for both BN and local opposition parties in their smearing, slandering and rumour- mongering campaigns but such tactics would only make the party, members and supporters more resolved to work harder to achieve their aims.

“It is a case of the more they ‘ hit’ us, the stronger we will become and Warisan will settle for nothing less than to oust BN- Umno out of Sabah,” he stressed.

Honorsius added: “Warisan leadership and members are united and moving in tandem with our mission to create the change awareness among the people and explain the rationale behind the party’s tagline ‘ Ubah Sabah’ as well as its mission and vision.

“It is very heartening and encouraging to note that our message is getting across to the rakyat and many strongholds of BN-Umno and components are on the verge of collapsing, branches are being dissolved with former members joining Warisan,” he pointed out.

“However, we will not be complacent and our Warisan team will continue to work harder and harder until and after the State Assembly is dissolved and general election is called,” he said.

Touching on the forthcoming closing event of the Warisan jelajah scheduled for March 25 at Kampung Nambazan, Penampang, Honorsius cautioned the people to be wary of some irresponsible people bent on disrupting the jelajah by posting viral fake invitation as discovered recently.

The jelajah will be addressed by Shafie and senior party officials, he said and extended his open invitation to Sabahans all over the State to witness the event.

“Warisan welcomes everyone, members, supporters as well as those who are interested to know and understand what our stands and struggles are,” he added.
