JCI to hold blood do­na­tion drive at Emart Riam Sun­day

MIRI: Ju­nior Cham­ber In­ter­na­tional (JCI) Riam will be hold­ing a blood do­na­tion drive at Emart Riam here on Sun­day.

Ac­cord­ing to JCI Riam pres­i­dent Petrus Ger­ard Young, the main ob­jec­tive of the ac­tiv­ity is to help Miri Hospi­tal Blood Bank in­crease and main­tain its blood sup­ply.

“We hope that through such mean­ing­ful event, aware­ness can be cre­ated as blood do­na­tion can save life in cases of emer­gency. At the same time, the blood do­na­tion drive is also aimed at im­prov­ing so­cial wel­fare and cul­ti­vate blood do­na­tion cul­ture or habit,” he ex­plained.

Mean­while, the blood do­na­tion drive will take place from 10am to 2pm. Also held to­gether with the cam­paign is a free health screen­ing which is open to the public.

“Mem­bers of the public who are healthy to do­nate their blood are urged to come and sup­port the event,” said Petrus.

He added that suc­cess­ful donors will re­ceive a to­ken of ap­pre­ci­a­tion from the or­gan­iser. For more in­for­ma­tion on the ac­tiv­ity, in­ter­ested mem­bers of the public can con­tact Petrus at 016- 8509953.
