JCI to hold blood donation drive at Emart Riam Sunday
MIRI: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Riam will be holding a blood donation drive at Emart Riam here on Sunday.
According to JCI Riam president Petrus Gerard Young, the main objective of the activity is to help Miri Hospital Blood Bank increase and maintain its blood supply.
“We hope that through such meaningful event, awareness can be created as blood donation can save life in cases of emergency. At the same time, the blood donation drive is also aimed at improving social welfare and cultivate blood donation culture or habit,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the blood donation drive will take place from 10am to 2pm. Also held together with the campaign is a free health screening which is open to the public.
“Members of the public who are healthy to donate their blood are urged to come and support the event,” said Petrus.
He added that successful donors will receive a token of appreciation from the organiser. For more information on the activity, interested members of the public can contact Petrus at 016- 8509953.
