Ex-police as­so­ci­a­tion Miri branch elects new exco

MIRI: The Miri branch of the Malaysian Ex-Police As­so­ci­a­tion held its bi­en­nial an­nual gen­eral meet­ing re­cently to elect new ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee mem­bers and of­fice bear­ers for the next three years ( 2017– 2020) in­stead of ev­ery two years as pre­vi­ously prac­tised.

Be­fore the as­so­ci­a­tion’s deputy per­ma­nent chair­man Stan­ley Ngau Jau Eng dis­solved the 2015– 2017 ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee, the chair­man for the 2015–2017 term Supt ( Rtd) Han Hipeni ad­vised all mem­bers present to be more proac­tive.

“When we run the as­so­ci­a­tion, the enemy is not from the out­side, but from within our­selves. The worst enemy in our­selves is our ego; so get rid of the ego and move for­ward to face the chal­lenges,” Han, who re­tained his po­si­tion as the head of the as­so­ci­a­tion for the 2017–2020 term said.

Also present was Sarawak ExPo­lice As­so­ci­a­tion chair­man Subri Aman who trav­elled from Kuch­ing to wit­ness the smooth run­ning of the meet­ing.

In his short speech, Subri re­minded as­so­ci­a­tion mem­bers to be firm, pro­fes­sional, trust­wor­thy and have in­tegrity. He also em­pha­sised that the Miri branch is con­sid­ered the most ac­tive in Malaysia.

The line-up of the new exco which also saw the ad­di­tion of two women are per­ma­nent chair­man of the as­so­ci­a­tion DSP ( Rtd) Weg­ner Lisa, deputy per­ma­nent chair­man Stan­ley, deputy chair­man ASP ( Rtd) Abang Bol­has­san Abang Rabaiee, sec­re­tary Zainal Matzain and as­sis­tant sec­re­tary Na­ji­men Rah­mat.

The trea­surer is Ham­dan Mat and Ju­naidi Adam is the in­for­ma­tion chief, while the in­ter­nal au­di­tors are Peter Tang and Ray­mond Kon. The elected com­mit­tee mem­bers are Omar Puyun, Edawaty Ab­dul­lah, Lucy @ Jane Nya, Salmah Drah­man and Gil­bert Ban­jie, while the ap­pointed com­mit­tee mem­bers are Morz­i­nah Ro­bial Huk and Nancy Sidik.
