Interhill Group employees observe Earth Hour
MIRI: InterhillGroupofCompanies observed Earth Hour in advance this year on March 24 by turning off all non- essential lights for one hour in Wisma Interhill.
Its employees embraced the cause by staying back after work and later gathered around the candle light-up area at the lobby.
“It is important for everyone to play their part, no matter how big or small, in helping to reduce negative impact on our environment,” Interhill Group corporate communications manager Angelyna Ental said.
She also mentioned her hope to see all employees help out in creating awareness about the importance of reducing carbon footprints, not only in the workplace but also at home.
“We at Interhill Group also would like to encourage as well as to always look forward to making more effort in helping to make the Earth a better place for everyone,” she added.
Interhill estimated a minimum saving of 330,000 watts overall in electric reduction at the Wisma Interhill Waterfront Commercial Centre here through the Earth Hour campaign.
“We will also continue to put similar efforts into business practices, and encourage our stakeholders to reduce their carbon footprints as well.” Earth Hour this year was observed worldwide on March 25.
