Calling marathon runners to the Miri Bungai Beach Ultra run

-

MIRI: Avid marathon runners are invited to register for the Miri Bungai Beach Ultra run which will be held on Nov 5 at Beach Republic.

According to its spokesperson, the ultra-marathon has almost reached its targeted number of participants since it began receiving entries last month.

“At the moment, we have nearly 200 participants for both the 60km and 38km categories. As we had targeted about 200 runners for both categories, we are happy to see the numbers.”

The categories for the ultra-run are 60km ( RM300 per pax from now until Sept 30); 38km ( RM200 per pax from now until Sept 30); 10km ( RM 55 flat rate per pax for runners aged 13 and above) and 5km Fun Run ( RM55 flat rate per pax aged five and above).

Jointly organised by Miri Beach Republic, N71 Bekenu Service Centre and Bulatan Park Runners Club ( BPRC) as well as with support from the Fire and Rescue Department and Sibuti District Council, the ultra-run is the second edition of its kind to happen here.

The cut- off time (COT) for the 60km race is 12 hours (4am to 4pm), and for the 38km race, the COT is eight hours from 4am to noon.

The 60km and 38km run will cover the routes along the strip from Beach Republic Miri up to Bungai beach whilst the 10km and 5km runs will take place around Bungai beach.

As the closing date for the run is less than three weeks away ( Sept 30), interested runners may obtain information and forms online (for 60km and 38km events) via http://bulatanparkrunnersclub. com/mbu2017 while forms for the 10km and 5km categories may be obtained at Share Tea Miri ( Boulevard Commercial Centre) and at the N71 Bekenu Service Centre.
