LHDN Miri to hold blood donation drive on Wednesday

MIRI: Members of the public here are invited to come and donate their blood at a blood donation drive organised by the Inland Revenue Board ( LHDN) Miri this coming Wednesday.

The activity will take place at Dewan Mutiara which is located on Level 1 of Wisma Hasil at Taman MDL here, from 8.30am until 12.30pm.

According to a spokespers­on for the event, the blood donation drive is organised by IRB Miri Social Welfare Committee in collaborat­ion with Miri Hospital Blood Bank. Among objectives of the programme is to create awareness on the importance of donating blood to save lives.

“At the same time, the event is to promote good relationsh­ip between IRB Miri personnels and members of the public. The campaign is also part of our effort to educate everyone on the need to take care of our health as well as the benefits of donating blood,” he said further.

Apart from that, the programme is aimed at instilling a caring and helping attitude among the public irrespecti­ve of race and religion, apart from helping Miri Hospital top up its blood supply.

“For this programme, we are targeting to raise 60 pints of blood, especially for type AB,” he said further.

Those who wish to donate their blood at the programme can obtain the registrati­on forms at Wisma Hasil reception counter.

Light refreshmen­t and certificat­e of recognitio­n will be given to successful donors.
