Mo­tor­cy­clist snatches hand­phone from pil­lion rider

SIBU: A pil­lion rider had a rude shock when a mo­tor­cy­clist came from be­hind and snatched her iPhone as she was us­ing it.

Ac­cord­ing to the vic­tim, she told her elder sis­ter driv­ing the bike to chase the cul­prit.

They man­aged to catch up with him at Jalan Aman.

The vic­tim said she in­tended to dis­em­bark and hit the cul­prit with her hel­met but it sped off as they were ap­proach­ing. She lodged a po­lice re­port. In a sep­a­rate case, a man who took part in the Sibu Marathon suf­fered losses after the wind­screen of his Toy­ota Hilux was smashed and the ve­hi­cle bro­ken into.

He lost RM350 and a hand­phone left in­side the car.

The man said he had ear­lier parked his Toy­ota Hilux be­hind Phoenix Ho­tel at Jalan Kai Peng at about 5.23am to join the run.

He re­turned at about 8.40am and was shocked to find the wind­screen smashed.

A po­lice re­port was lodged.
