MCC re­ceives 19 com­plaints on its ser­vices

MIRI: Miri City Coun­cil (MCC) re­ceived a to­tal of 19 com­plaints from the pub­lic re­gard­ing the coun­cil’s var­i­ous ser­vices dur­ing its meet-the-peo­ple ses­sion at Krokop Lorong 5 Mar­ket re­cently.

An MCC spokesper­son said the com­plaints were filed for the at­ten­tion of the coun­cil’s re­spec­tive sec­tions.

“Out of the to­tal num­ber, 12 com­plaints were recorded un­der the Engi­neer­ing section: three cases each un­der main­te­nance of drains, main­te­nance of roads/ road humps and il­le­gal ex­ten­sions/ con­struc­tions/struc­tures as well as two com­plaints on road sig­nages and one on grass cut­ting.”

THe Pub­lic Clean­li­ness and Main­te­nance (PCM) section re­ceived six com­plaints: two each on refuse col­lec­tion, stray dogs and street sweep­ing.

The Pub­lic Health (PH) section con­trib­uted one com­plaint on mar­ket prob­lem and main­te­nance.

The coun­cil hopes to get first hand in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing its ser­vices through the ses­sion.

Bridg­ing the com­mu­ni­ca­tion gap with the peo­ple at grass­roots level, the coun­cil hopes to get di­rect feed­back from the peo­ple on how to im­prove its ser­vices.
