Si­moi: Kam­pung Skait ex­pan­sion pro­ject pro­gress­ing well

SRI AMAN: The RM3.3 mil­lion ex­pan­sion pro­ject for Kam­pung Skait, Sri Aman is pro­gress­ing well, said Lingga as­sem­bly­woman Si­moi Peri dur­ing a site visit to the vil­lage yes­ter­day.

The ex­pan­sion pro­ject in­volves the build­ing of ba­sic in­fra­struc­ture such as drainage and a gravel road.

“With the com­ple­tion of this pro­ject, it will greatly im­prove the vil­lage and its sur­round­ing ar­eas,” said Si­moi adding fur­ther that the pro­ject is fully funded by the state gov­ern­ment.

She also pointed out that the state gov­ern­ment is giv­ing at­ten­tion to de­velop the ru­ral ar­eas in Sarawak to en­sure that it will be on par with its sub-ur­ban and ur­ban ar­eas.

“The ru­ral peo­ple should take this de­vel­op­ment pro­ject on a pos­i­tive note as it shows that the ru­ral ar­eas are not left be­hind in the gov­ern­ment’s de­vel­op­ment plans,” she added.

Also present dur­ing the site visit were Lingga con­stituency spe­cial af­fairs depart­ment (Jasa) of­fi­cer Su­laiman Amut and coun­cil­lor Kun­jang Nanang.
