CM to launch Se­buyau New Town­ship on Nov 2

SE­BUYAU: Chief Min­is­ter Datuk Pat­inggi Abang Jo­hari Tun Openg will of­fi­ci­ate at the open­ing of Se­buyau New Town­ship on Nov 2, here.

Yes­ter­day, As­sis­tant Min­is­ter of Coastal Road Datuk Ju­laihi Narawi vis­ited and in­spected the site for the cer­e­mony.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing him were Samarahan Res­i­dent Brahim Lumpu, Sarawak Ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cer from Se­buyau sub district Ajis Ah­mad and se­nior govern­ment of­fi­cers from Samarahan and Simun­jan.

The Se­buyau New Town­ship will trans­form Se­buyau with many projects be­ing planned.

Among the projects are a RM12.4 mil­lion clinic and a mosque cost­ing more than RM4 mil­lion.

The new town­ship will also have mini in­dus­trial es­tate, res­i­den­tial ar­eas where about 240 units of Rumah Mesra Rakyat will be built, com­mer­cial build­ing and of­fice build­ings for govern­ment de­part­ments and agen­cies.

Ju­laihi later of­fi­ci­ated at the open­ing SK Raba sports day.

Speak­ing at the func­tion, Ju­laihi who is Se­buyau assem­bly­man said the peo­ple should be grate­ful to Barisan Na­sional (BN) govern­ment for the good road net­work en­joyed by the peo­ple.

He also men­tioned the Batang Sadong bridge which the peo­ple never dreamed of.

In view of this, he ad­vised the peo­ple to con­tinue sup­port­ing BN and the govern­ment de­part­ments and agen­cies.

He pointed out that the govern­ment would con­tinue with the construction of coastal road and the bridges cross­ing the rivers.

“Un­der the lead­er­ship of Abang Jo­hari, the govern­ment will con­tinue to trans­form ru­ral and coastal ar­eas,” he pointed out.

He also said that he would con­tinue to help Par­ent-Teacher As­so­ci­a­tions [ PIBG] in Se­buyau, which he be­lieved would help im­prove aca­demic per­for­mance of the school chil­dren.

He was glad to note that the aca­demic per­for­mance of schools in the con­stituency has im­proved over the years.

“Stu­dents from schools in Se­buyau have also ex­celled in cocur­ricu­lum,” he said.

At the func­tion, Ju­laihi an­nounced RM10,000 grant for PIBG SK Raba.
