CM to launch Sebuyau New Township on Nov 2
SEBUYAU: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate at the opening of Sebuyau New Township on Nov 2, here.
Yesterday, Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi visited and inspected the site for the ceremony.
Accompanying him were Samarahan Resident Brahim Lumpu, Sarawak Administrative officer from Sebuyau sub district Ajis Ahmad and senior government officers from Samarahan and Simunjan.
The Sebuyau New Township will transform Sebuyau with many projects being planned.
Among the projects are a RM12.4 million clinic and a mosque costing more than RM4 million.
The new township will also have mini industrial estate, residential areas where about 240 units of Rumah Mesra Rakyat will be built, commercial building and office buildings for government departments and agencies.
Julaihi later officiated at the opening SK Raba sports day.
Speaking at the function, Julaihi who is Sebuyau assemblyman said the people should be grateful to Barisan Nasional (BN) government for the good road network enjoyed by the people.
He also mentioned the Batang Sadong bridge which the people never dreamed of.
In view of this, he advised the people to continue supporting BN and the government departments and agencies.
He pointed out that the government would continue with the construction of coastal road and the bridges crossing the rivers.
“Under the leadership of Abang Johari, the government will continue to transform rural and coastal areas,” he pointed out.
He also said that he would continue to help Parent-Teacher Associations [ PIBG] in Sebuyau, which he believed would help improve academic performance of the school children.
He was glad to note that the academic performance of schools in the constituency has improved over the years.
“Students from schools in Sebuyau have also excelled in cocurriculum,” he said.
At the function, Julaihi announced RM10,000 grant for PIBG SK Raba.
