‘Strike a balance between study and co-curricular activities’

-

SIBU: University College of Technology Sarawak ( UCTS) students, particularly members of UCTS Students Council, are advised to strike a balance between study and co- curricular activities.

Its vice- chancellor Professor Dato Dr Abdul Hakim Juri gave this advice at the UCTS Students Council’s new officebearers inauguration ceremony at UCTS Senate Room yesterday. He suggested the council’s executive committee extend its tenure of office from one year to two years.

“You need ample time to implement the projects and activities planned,” he explained.

He said one year is too short a term for them to roll out the desired number of activities.

Jong Lung Sin was inaugurated as president with Winston Wong Jing Kai as vice-president, Wong Jia Yii as secretary and Jessie Wong Yen Hee, treasurer.

Other office- bearers are Chai Chung Yee ( Public Relation & Publicity), Wilson Mujang Nyuwak ( Public Relation and Publicity), Ting Ding Chai ( Welfare/Social/ Disciplinary), Goh Zheng Feng (Welfare/Social/ Disciplinary), Alvin Tang Shin Zhe ( Event Management) and John Wong Kiong Seng ( Event Management).
