‘Strike a bal­ance between study and co-cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties’

SIBU: Univer­sity Col­lege of Tech­nol­ogy Sarawak ( UCTS) stu­dents, par­tic­u­larly mem­bers of UCTS Stu­dents Coun­cil, are ad­vised to strike a bal­ance between study and co- cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties.

Its vice- chan­cel­lor Pro­fes­sor Dato Dr Ab­dul Hakim Juri gave this ad­vice at the UCTS Stu­dents Coun­cil’s new of­fice­bear­ers in­au­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony at UCTS Sen­ate Room yes­ter­day. He sug­gested the coun­cil’s ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee ex­tend its ten­ure of of­fice from one year to two years.

“You need am­ple time to im­ple­ment the projects and ac­tiv­i­ties planned,” he ex­plained.

He said one year is too short a term for them to roll out the de­sired num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties.

Jong Lung Sin was in­au­gu­rated as pres­i­dent with Win­ston Wong Jing Kai as vice-pres­i­dent, Wong Jia Yii as sec­re­tary and Jessie Wong Yen Hee, trea­surer.

Other of­fice- bear­ers are Chai Chung Yee ( Pub­lic Re­la­tion & Pub­lic­ity), Wil­son Mu­jang Nyuwak ( Pub­lic Re­la­tion and Pub­lic­ity), Ting Ding Chai ( Wel­fare/So­cial/ Dis­ci­plinary), Goh Zheng Feng (Wel­fare/So­cial/ Dis­ci­plinary), Alvin Tang Shin Zhe ( Event Man­age­ment) and John Wong Kiong Seng ( Event Man­age­ment).
