Trio nabbed for al­legedly rob­bing man at night spot

MIRI: Three men were ar­rested on Mon­day in con­nec­tion with the rob­bery of a man at Pelita Com­mer­cial Cen­tre a day ear­lier.

The trio, lo­cals in their 20s, was picked up by a po­lice team around 6pm in the city and placed in the lockup pend­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The in­ci­dent is said to have taken place in the wee hours of Sun­day when the sus­pects al­legedly con­fronted the vic­tim at an en­ter­tain­ment out­let.

A brawl is then said to have bro­ken out be­fore the men stole the vic­tim’s valu­ables and fled the scene.

District po­lice chief ACP Lim Meng Seah con­firmed the ar­rests when con­tacted yes­ter­day, say­ing the trio is be­ing held to fa­cil­i­tate po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion un­der Sec­tion 394 of the Pe­nal Code.
