Iljin Ma­te­ri­als CEO/chair­man calls on Awang Ten­gah

KUCH­ING: Deputy Chief Min­is­ter and Sec­ond Min­is­ter Of Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Datuk Amar Awang Ten­gah Ali Hasan re­ceived a cour­tesy call from Huh Jae Myung, the chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer and chair­man of Iljin Ma­te­ri­als Co Ltd of South Korea at his of­fice in the State Leg­isla­tive Assem­bly ( DUN) yes­ter­day.

The visit co­in­cided with Iljin Ma­te­rial’s de­ci­sion to in­vest in Sarawak fol­low­ing the state’s di­rect en­gage­ment with the com­pany.

Iljin Ma­te­rial’s cop­per­foil pro­ject in Sama Jaya is val­ued at RM1.2 bil­lion. Cop­per­foil is used to man­u­fac­ture bat­ter­ies for smart­phones and elec­tric ve­hi­cles.

As­sis­tant Min­is­ter of En­tre­pre­neur and SME De­vel­op­ment and As­sis­tant Min­is­ter of E- Com­merce Datuk Mohd Nar­o­den Ma­jais and Iljin Ma­te­ri­als ex­ec­u­tives were also present dur­ing the visit.
