RM3 million each approved for Sungai Menuan, Sungai Ibau road projects
A SUM of RM3 million each has been approved for the design works on Sungai Menuan and Sungai Ibau roads.
According to Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi, both projects have been submitted to the state government for the mid-term review under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).
Julaihi, who is Sebuyau assemblyman, stated this in his reply to Jefferson Jamit Unyat ( BN-Bukit Goram) who asked about the status of the projects.
In response to supplementary questions, Julaihi said the estimated cost for the 9km R3- Grade Sungai Menuan Road was RM65 million, while that of the 10km Sungai Ibau Road – also R3- Grade – was RM75 million.
“Hopefully, both road projects could be implemented in the near future,” he told the august House yesterday.
Julaihi also said the government is taking a serious view on safety and other issues involving the communities affected by the Pan Borneo Highway project along the Serian- Pantu Junction.
He responded to a question raised by John Ilus ( BN-Bukit Semuja), who asked whether a contractor for Pan Borneo Highway project works along this section had been taking safety measures, as far as the local communities directly affected by the project were concerned.
