Four killed in bus-car col­li­sion

KOTA KINABALU: Four peo­ple were killed when the Pro­ton Saga car they were trav­el­ing in with two oth­ers col­lided with an ex­press bus at Km 56, Ranau/ Telupid Road on Thurs­day.

Author­i­ties have not re­vealed the vic­tims’ iden­tity but it was learnt that four of the vic­tims died at the scene while two have been warded in hos­pi­tal in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

The ex­press bus was car­ry­ing 29 pas­sen­gers, a driver and a con­duc­tor, head­ing to Sem­porna from Kota Kinabalu, when the 2.30pm in­ci­dent hap­pened.

Fire and res­cue per­son­nel were at the scene to ex­tract the vic­tims’ bod­ies while the in­jured vic­tims were taken to hos­pi­tal by passers-by.

It was also learnt that none of the pas­sen­gers on board the bus, to­gether with the driver and con­duc­tor, were in­jured.

The Pro­ton Saga car ended up­side down af­ter col­lid­ing with the ex­press bus along Ranau/Telupid Road.
