Hope Place seeks donation of special milk for family with disabled children

-

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching is seeking public assistance in acquiring special milk for a family with three children suffering from cerebral palsy.

Its founder Kelvin Wan, who recently visited the family at their home in Padawan, said one of the children is bedridden and requires tube feeding.

He said the expenses to care for the three children are very high due to the amount of diapers and special milk needed.

“The income of the children’s father, who is a military personnel, is not enough to cover the expenses of meeting the children’s requirements, while their mother, Menti Pantar, is a housewife.

“We are appealing to members of public to donate to this family by contributing the special milk, as Hope Place currently lacks the particular special milk which the three children need,” said Wan.

Hope Place is an NGO that visits poor and less fortunate families to contribute essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits and noodles.

Most of these families or individuals barely earn enough to get through the month, hence are grateful with the assistance of these basic necessities delivered to them.

For families with special needs children, the elderly or disabled, Hope Place provides milk powder, oats and diapers as well.

Hope Place carries out its aid deliveries once every two months because of the more than 170 families on its list of recipients.
