Sarawak deputy police chief among 34 senior officers involved in PDRM’s latest transfer exercise
KUCHING: Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Dev Kumar will take up the post of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (intelligence/ operations) next month.
He will replace Datuk Mohd Roze Shaari, who will be appointed as Kedah deputy police chief.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department deputy director (special operations) Datuk Fisol Salleh will assume his new post as Sarawak deputy police commissioner.
Replacing Fisol will be Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department deputy director (General Operations Force) Datuk Mastor Mohd Arif.
The four are among 34 senior officers of the Royal Malaysia Police ( PDRM) involved in a
transfer exercise, effective this Nov 20.
The announcement was made on PDRM Facebook page yesterday by PDRM corporate communications head Datuk Asmawati Ahmad.
Dev took over the position of Sarawak deputy police commissioner from Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim in July last year.
Prior to that, he had served as CID Sarawak chief and was posted as the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department deputy director.
Dev first came to Sarawak as an investigating officer at Central police station here in 1982 after having completed training at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur.
He served there until 1989. Meanwhile, CID Sarawak chief SAC Denis Leong Soon Kuai will be reporting for duty as Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) deputy director (enforcement/ prevention/general policing).
Taking Leong’s place in what appears to be a ‘swap’ will be the outgoing Bukit Aman NCID deputy director (enforcement/ prevention/general policing), SAC Mat Zaini @ Mohd Salahudin Che Ali.
