Look­ing back, what have been the defin­ing mo­ments in your first 100 days in this po­si­tion? When I first joined PETRONAS Chem­i­cals Group Bhd, I re­alised that it is unique as it has a lot of op­por­tu­ni­ties for growth. The Group also has a num­ber of strong lead­ers who can take the or­gan­i­sa­tion to greater heights. The only chal­lenge, at that mo­ment, was to fur­ther strengthen the Group and turn it into a high­per­form­ing or­gan­i­sa­tion. How does the Group cre­ate a unique busi­ness propo­si­tion? We have 30 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the petro­chem­i­cal busi­ness. Through­out that time, we have strived for op­er­a­tional ex­cel­lence to guar­an­tee re­li­able sup­ply of our prod­ucts to cus­tomers. We have also built our rep­u­ta­tion in mar­ket­ing dis­tinc­tion by estab­lish­ing a strong net­work, es­pe­cially in Malaysia, South-East Asia and Asia. At the mo­ment, we have more than 1,000 clients who have stayed with us for the last 10 years. Our strate­gic lo­ca­tion, at the cen­tre of the world’s high­est de­mand growth for petro­chem­i­cal prod­ucts, also al­lows us to be cost-com­pet­i­tive and ef­fi­cient.
