THE COMPANY’S PLANS FOR FUTURE GROWTH AND THE QUALITIES HE EXPECTS FROM ALL HIS STAFF.

OH MICHAEL

Looking back, what have been the defining moments in your first 100 days in this position? When I first joined PETRONAS Chemicals Group Bhd, I realised that it is unique as it has a lot of opportunities for growth. The Group also has a number of strong leaders who can take the organisation to greater heights. The only challenge, at that moment, was to further strengthen the Group and turn it into a highperforming organisation. How does the Group create a unique business proposition? We have 30 years of experience in the petrochemical business. Throughout that time, we have strived for operational excellence to guarantee reliable supply of our products to customers. We have also built our reputation in marketing distinction by establishing a strong network, especially in Malaysia, South-East Asia and Asia. At the moment, we have more than 1,000 clients who have stayed with us for the last 10 years. Our strategic location, at the centre of the world’s highest demand growth for petrochemical products, also allows us to be cost-competitive and efficient. Single out a corporate leader and a company you wish to emulate. There are many but I am particularly inspired by Thierry Le Hénaff, Chairman and CEO of Arkema, which went public in 2006. Ten years
