Gun­ther’s Restau­rant

is, ar­guably, one of Sin­ga­pore’s best places for mod­ern French cui­sine. The award-win­ning restau­rant has re­ceived ac­co­lades from San Pel­le­grino, the Miele Guide and the World Gourmet Sum­mit Ex­cel­lence for the mag­nif­i­cent ser­vice and splen­did dishes in an el­e­gant Art Nou­veau-in­spired space on trendy Purvis Street. Din­ing at Gun­ther’s is a com­fort­ing af­fair, as the food and am­bi­ence are all based on Chef Gun­ther Hubrech­sen’s de­sire to call this place home – a feat achieved with his sim­ple yet stun­ning dishes like the sig­na­ture cold an­gel’s hair pasta with truf­fle-scented Osci­etra caviar and crispy suck­ling pig with kriek beer sauce. Desserts are sweet treats as well, with the won­der­fully sat­is­fy­ing ap­ple tart “à la dragées” with Ha­vana rum raisin ice cream or the de­light­ful warm souf­flé with a new flavour ev­ery day.
