WHERE: n the Paci c coast of Chile.

GETTING THERE: From the Chilean capital of Santiago, Valparaíso is a straightforward 90-minute drive on Ruta 68.

GO: Founded in the early 16th century, Valparaíso served as a major stopover for ships sailing between the Atlantic and Paci c by crossing the Straits of Magellan before the opening of the Panama Canal. It remains one of the most important ports in the South Paci c, and the city, sprawled out over the hills, is colourful and vibrant.

DO: While Valparaíso’s historic quarter has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003, the city has long celebrated Chilean culture. One of its most famous residents was the great poet and Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda, whose house in the city, La

Sebastiana (Ferrari 692 in Bellavista), sits high on a hill, with panoramic views of the city and the bay. La Sebastiana is now a museum and houses Neruda’s personal possessions, giving you a glimpse into the great poet’s inspirations.

One of the latest additions to MercedesBenz’s plug-in hybrid family, the E 350 e boasts four operating modes, making it the most versatile hybrid ever. In pure electric mode, the E 350 e has a range of 33km and top speed of 130km/h. With a combined power and torque output of 286hp and 550Nm, respectively, this dynamic car takes just 6.2 seconds to hit 100km/h from a standstill.

COMAND Online allows easy access to infotainment, navigation and communications while driving. It can be operated using a touchpad and controller, the LINGUATRONIC voice input system or the Touch Control button on the right of the steering wheel. One of its most important features is the cutting-edge navigation services.
