A FOUR-day workshop on Interfacing Brain Gym With Children Who Have Special Needs, will be held at Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, from Nov 29 to Dec 1. It will cover balancing processes and techniques, assessing needs and establishing goals, three dimensions of learning, and modification for special needs children.
Aimed at special needs providers and anyone else interested in Brain Gym, the course will be facilitated by Cecelia Koester.
Brain Gym is a learning programme taught through trained instructors and movement-based programmes. The education model is said to help create new pathways in the brain to draw out innate intelligence, build awareness regarding the value of movement, and emphasise the ability to notice and respond to movement-based needs and encourage self-responsibility.
Koester focuses on offering specific tools to assist children with special needs realise their potential. She has authored a book entitled I Am The Child: Using Brain Gym With Children Who Have Special Needs with Gail E. Dennison. n The workshop will be held at Crystal Crown Hotel, PJ, from 9am to 5 pm.
