The Yang women war­riors film is just one of four be­ing planned, says Ap­ple Daily. Three ri­val ver­sions are in the works, in­clud­ing one star­ring Fan Bing­bing and Bar­bie Hsu and an­other star­ring Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li.

Che­ung will also star in Stephen Chow’s The King Of Com­edy 2, with her son Lu­cas, says the re­port.

And she will make a bun­dle. With a boom in the Chi­nese movie mar­ket, Hong Kong stars’ salaries have shot up dra­mat­i­cally in the past year, says Ap­ple Daily.

Che­ung will take home HK$15mil each for the Yang women war­riors film and The King Of Com­edy 2 and HK$10mil (RM4mil) each for the other two movies, says the re­port.

The men are mak­ing even more. Yen and Tony Le­ung Chiu Wai are tak­ing home HK$30mil (RM12mil) a film this year, up from HK$15mil last year, and Andy Lau, HK$18mil (RM7.2mil), up from HK$10mil. – The Straits Times, Singapore/Asia News Net­work
