each contributed their own true story.
In Gavin’s able hands, our year-end show The One Thing I Don’t Have Right Now (which we all also wrote, often based on true, humorous, wistful and occasionally gut-wrenching experiences) was well-received. It, too, had “explosive” moments of its own.
Thus, when Gavin asked if we would like to help out with the next season – to create a warm, welcoming and encouraging space for nervous theatre newbies – it took only a moment for Alex, Wai Keat, Adeline, Azhar and myself to give a resounding “Yes!” We were ably joined by our stage manager from The One Thing I Don’t Have Right Now, Rosheen Fatima.
So we helped facilitate this year’s season, which ran from February to July and uncovered a whole slew of exciting, diverse and very entertaining pieces, and people! And that’s how an eclectic group of artists – including filmmaker Khairil M. Bahar, copywriter Toby Teh, Nitia, lawyer Joshua Chong, web designer Justin Wong, Jeremy Ooi, Ian Homer, Amanda Ang, Aizat Zainuddin, Malin B. Erikson, Muna Winder and Marvin Wong – were brought together for Lost And Found.
Drawing from their own life experiences, they each contribute their own true stories to this heart-warming piece, just as we did. From what I hear, the show will give an entertaining and insightful new perspective on the subjects of loss and self-discovery. If their experience is anything like ours, it will be.
