2011 is go­ing to be an in­ter­est­ing year if you are a fan of Mar­vel Comics. On April 28, Aus­tralian ac­tor Chris Hemsworth will be meet­ing the au­di­ence as The Mighty Thor. On Aug 4, an even more buffed-up Chris Evans (than in Losers) will be tack­ling the role of the per­fect Amer­i­can sol­dier, Cap­tain Amer­ica.

Of course, both these he­roes will come to­gether in The Avengers on May 3, 2012, along with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and the Hulk (Mark Ruf­falo).

Thor – di­rected by Ken­neth Branagh – fea­tures amaz­ing tal­ent, in­clud­ing An­thony Hopkins and Natalie Port­man.

The story is an ori­gin of sorts about a Norse god who is thrown down to Earth af­ter his ar­ro­gance restarts an an­cient war in the realm of As­gard. Iron­i­cally, it is on Earth that he learns to be a hero ... it helps that he be­comes friends with Jane Fos­ter, a de­ter­mined nurse who looks like Port­man.

Di­rec­tor Joe Johnston has ac­cu­mu­lated cal­i­bre ac­tors to be in this project, in­clud­ing Hugo Weav­ing, Stan­ley Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones.
