BIG and burly, that’s the new AV receiver from Marantz. This muscular, 7.1-channel beast, designated the SR7005, outputs 125 watts into each of its channels, but keeps cross-channel contamination to the bare minimum. Ultra-precise signal processing is what it promises.
The brain of the SR7005 is the latest 400MHz Sharc DSP, which also handles HD audio decoding, including the Audyssey DSX and the MultEQ XT room calibration.
Six HDMI 1.4a inputs are provided, one hidden behind the front flap for easy access, and four outputs. Then, there is an iPod-digital-compatible USB input, while the RJ45 Network jack provides connection to vTuner Internet radio and music services such as Napster and last.fm.
A phono equaliser comes onboard, if you’re still with vinyl, along with an AM/FM tuner. More information on the magnificent SR7005 can be obtained from Wo Kee Hong Electronics (%03-79548088).
It does everything: The all-new Marantz SR7005 AV receiver.
