THE United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR), in collaboration with The Actors Studio, presents Datuk Faridah Merican’s annual installment of Life Sdn Bhd.
The seventh installment concerns challenges faced by refugees. Hear stories of how refugees flee war, conflict and human rights abuses in seeking safety and living in Malaysia
Faridah launched Life Sdn Bhd in 2004. The beauty of it lies in its stripped down format where actors and non-actors share true stories, on stage, on issues that affect us.
Featuring refugees Ngun Siang, Raine and Sharifah and Miss Malaysia/Universe 2011 and refugee rights advocate Deborah Henry and UNHCR’s Susheela Balasundaram.
Also featuring specially comissioned songs by homegrown singersongwriters Ariff Akhir and Ian Chow.

The long standing homegrown showcase features indie maverick OJ Law, who has self-released his latest outing Yesterday Is A Distant Dream, which is a word-of-mouth revelation in the music scene.
OJ Law’s new album (his third since 2006) features melodramatic indie songs like Lovers’ Tiff, Fantastic Adventure (featuring Liyana Fizi) and the new single Yoñlu. Other acts for tonight’s Moonshine include Silent Scenery, soulful singer-songwriter Amir Jahari and newcomer outfit Enterprise.

Details at the door. n VIVA Circus in conjunction with Publika, presents the inaugural Collision Arts Asia Festival, a threeday fiesta created by independent artists for the public. The event will be held at Publika, Jalan Dutamas 1, Solaris Dutamas in KL tomorrow till Sunday.
Tomorrow (7pm), there is the Ultimate Dance Crew competition where some of the country’s most talented dance crews battle it out with their best group dance routines and acrobatics acts.
On Saturday (6pm), check out Viva Circus Experience – a performance fusing traditional Asian cultural dances with contemporary arts such as hip hop, street acrobatics and circus acts.
On Sunday (7pm), there is the 72 Hour Creation Challenge where artists from different disciplines come together and within 72 hours, have to co-create a 30-minute show. The challenge starts today. Proceeds will be donated to the Viva Circus Outreach Programme.
Additional events include presentations with key note speakers from the multi arts, entertainment and events industry, multi arts exhibitions, film screenings, street performances and crafts market.
