No more messy wires
IF YOU are tired of listening to music using the wired earphones that came with your portable music player or smartphone then perhaps it’s time to go wireless.
Today we look at the Creative WP-350 Bluetooth wireless headphones that can easily be paired with a Bluetooth device such as a smartphone or a supported MP3 player. For the purpose of this review, Creative loaned us a Zen Touch2 portable media player.
The pairing of the WP-350 with the Zen Touch2 and a Blackberry smartphone via Bluetooth only took me a couple of minutes and soon I was good to go.
At your fingertips
The WP-350 is designed in such a way that it is lightweight and it sits comfortably on your ears. It has a soft protective cushion on the underside of the frame that makes the whole listening experience pleasurable even when you are travelling long distance.
The ear cups can be folded flat to make it easier to store in your bag.
For your added convenience, the WP-350 comes with a travel pouch too.
As the WP-350 rests comfortably on your ears, you can easily access both music and voice calls while on the go.
To listen to your favourite songs again, just tap the rewind button gently on the right ear cup of the headphone. You can also access other playback controls such as play, forward and stop as well as adjust the volume levels in the same manner.
The music playing over the headphones was crystal clear and had good range. No complaints in this department.
Creative has incorporated a concealed microphone in the WP-350. The headphones allow you to pause your music and pick up a phone call seamlessly. To answer a call, tap the button on the right ear cup of the headphone. Yes, all the control buttons are located at this area.
Voice calls sounded clear thanks to Creative’s Clearspeech Engine technology.
The background noise is drastically reduced and it enhances your speech effectively when you are speaking over the headphones.
With the WP-350, I listened to my favourite music for a few hours, and the rechargeable lithium-ion battery did not go flat.
The company claims that the WP-350 can last up to eight hours of audio playback. Once it goes flat, you can charge the WP-350 using the supplied USB cable.
I found the Creative WP-350 Bluetooth wireless headphones handy especially for those who listen to music on their smartphone while travelling. This is because one can easy switch from listening to music to answering a call by just tapping a button.
The WP-350 is easy to use and comfortable to your ears too. However at RM399, you may want to give it a test before deciding to get one.
Pros: Lightweight; easy on ears; good sound quality, wireless convenience.
Cons: A little pricey.
